So, what is Girl Up all about?
Currently, less than 2 cents of every development dollar goes to programs for girls. In some countries, almost 80-90 percent of youth program participants are boys. Research shows that investment in girls' health, education, and empowerment often lead to significant positive impacts on a girl's emotional and physical health. However, many girls in developing countries are still at a huge disadvantage, and face many challenges that make it difficult for them to reach their full potential.
These girls need our help; and that is the reason why the Girl Up campaign was launched.

Since Girl Up’s launch in 2010, we’ve partnered with the United Nations to support comprehensive programs that give adolescent girls in developing countries an equal chance for education, health, social and economic opportunities, and a life free from violence.
